Fishtailin

So it’s always been a dream of mine to have luscious long locks and be able to master the art of fishtail braids. AND THE DAY HAS COME, well sorta, my best friend lent me her hair extensions (which now match my hair since I’ve gone to the dark side) for my halloween costume, but I’ve been playing with them for the past few days. My girl crush, the small thing blog’s Kate posted a fishtail tutorial last week and I gave it a little try.

I teased my hair LOTS, added some texture powder and clip in extensions then tied my hair into a low pony and fishtailed down to the bottom. It turned out better then I thought it would. For years I’ve been trying to fishtail with my short flat hair and this was the first time I was successful! I am very excited to try out all the possibilities with the wonderful new/old extensions.

My new hair do!

  1. I don’t know the technical name for it, but I take the hair and wrap an elastic in it before I start the actual braid and separate the middle of the hair above the braid and twist the hair through the part I just made. It helps keep the braid from flying around.
